Floyd Misner

Floyd M. Misner, age 80, of Clarksville passed on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Spectrum’s Butterworth Campus.  He was born on October 19, 1937 to Archie and Lucy Misner in Mancelona, MI.  Floyd worked at Woodbury Grain for many years.  He was member of the Woodland Eagles, just a receiving his 35-year membership pin.  Floyd is survived by; daughter Jolene Misner, two grandchildren Tara and Dylan, brother Russ (Marilyn) Misner, sister Luella and many nieces and nephews along with special friend Margaret Hefflebower.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  A memorial service will be held at the Woodland Eagles Aerie 3782 on November 4, 2017 at 2pm.  

Jeffrey Scott Hull

Jeffrey Scott Hull passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home with family by his side.

 

Jeff was recently diagnosed with Kidney cancer (RCC) and was anxiously waiting for treatment to begin. Jeff was born April 15, 1960 to Richard and Jo Anne (Wood) Hull. Jeff was a graduate of Hastings High School and Denver Automotive. On February 11, 1981, Jeff married the love of his life, Gale Durkee. Together, they raised their children in Middleville.

 

Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, stepfather Robert Wood, stepmother Lois Hull, stepsister Kathy Blodgett, and stepbrother Mickey Parks. He is survived by his wife Gale, daughter Amanda (Ryan) Castelein, son Jeffrey Scott Hull II, grandson Justin Castelein, mother Jo Anne Wood and father Richard Hull, siblings Deborah (Gary) Dutcher, Jack (Tammy) Hull, stepsisters DeeDee (Randy) Graham, and Sue (Frank) Spagnuolo, stepbrother-in-law Roger Blodgett, in-laws Gerald and Sandra Durkee, sister-in-law Denise Durkee, brother-in-law Matthew (Brenda) Durkee, and several nieces and nephews.

 

Jeff was a Branch Manager at Hull Lift Truck in Battle Creek, and was a very valued employee.

 

Jeff loved spending his time with his family, riding his Harley, camping, golfing, boating, and playing cards. He loved all things family and was happiest with everyone around. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.

 

In lieu of flowers, Gale has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Easterseals Michigan or to his grandson Justin Castelein’s education fund.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Girrbach Funeral Home 328 S. Broadway Street, Hastings, MI 49058, with Visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow services at the First United Methodist Church.

Sarah "Sally" Jane Schantz

Sarah "Sally" Jane Schantz of Hastings, passed away on October 21, 2017 in Hastings at the age of 66. She was born on May 21, 1951, the daughter of Walter W. and Laura B. (Mangus) Winebrenner.

 

Sally graduated from Hastings High School in 1969. She worked at Hastings Manufacturing and K&E Tackle, retiring in 2015. She married Michael R. Schantz on September 29, 1973. Sally was a member of the Freeport Baptist Church. She loved camping, traveling, scrapbooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

 

Sally was preceded in death by her husband, of 42 years, Michael Schantz, father, Walter Winebrenner, mother-in-law, Colleen (Jones) Schantz, and sister-in-law, Kathleen (Girrbach) Schantz.

 

She is survived by her mother, Laura (Mangus) Winebrenner of Hastings, Michigan, father-in-law, Karl Schantz of Hastings, Michigan, daughter, Shellie (Kevin) Hubert of Chassell, Michigan, son, Aaron (Alison Fouts) Schantz of Zeeland, MI, son, Todd (Tiffany Cappon) Schantz of Hastings, MI, grandchildren Orin and Kyle Hubert, Phoebe, Jonathon, and Sophia Schantz, brothers, and sisters, Mary Winebrenner, Margaret (Timothy) Nicholson, Laura (Allen) Strouse, John (Cynthia) Winebrenner, Thomas (Ann) Winebrenner, James (Karen) Winebrenner, Grace (Timothy) Fish, Daniel Winebrenner and 26 nieces and nephews.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Freeport Baptist Church, 380 County Line Rd. (108th St), Freeport, MI 49325 or a Charity of One's Choice.

 

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S. Broadway St., Hastings, MI 49058. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Girrbach Funeral Home. Pastor Ron Perrine will officiate the service. A luncheon will follow the service at the Freeport Community Center, 200 State St., Freeport, MI.

 

Interment will take place at Dowling Cemetery on Thursday, October 26th at 10:00 am. The family will go in procession from the Funeral Home, leaving at 9:30 am, if you would like to attend.
